What is an Inverter Kit

A solar inverter is really a converter, though the rules of physics say otherwise. A solar power inverter converts or inverts the direct current  (DC) energy produced by a solar panel into Alternate Current (AC.) Most homes use AC rather than DC energy. DC energy is not safe to use in homes.

In a solar power system, the inverter is the bridge between the solar panels and the grid or load equipment. It can convert the DC power generated by solar panels into AC power, which can be supplied to households, businesses, etc., or sold to power companies through the grid.

A power inverter converts direct current (DC) from a battery or solar panel into alternating current (AC), used by most household appliances. With the help of a power inverter, you may utilize all types of equipment that runs on AC power, including electric lights, kitchen appliances, microwaves, TVs, radios, laptops, etc.

In an RV, an inverter converts 12V DC power from the vehicle's battery or solar panels into 120V AC power. This allows you to use standard household appliances and electronics while on the road or camping off-grid.

There are four main types of solar power inverters: Also known as a central inverter. Smaller solar arrays may use a standard string inverter. When they do, a string of solar panels forms a circuit where DC energy flows from each panel into a wiring harness that connects them all to a single inverter.

Power inverters are not generally used in solar systems as they are designed to simply change DC to AC or visa versa. You will have inverters in your home attached to, or inside, some of your electrical equipment in the form of a transformer.
