5g base stations and communications are jointly built and shared

With 4.19 million 5G base stations already operational across China, the MIIT emphasized that “promoting 5G revolution and 6G innovation will be one of the priorities” for 2025, according to a report by Chinese newspaper China Daily. Chinese main operators are China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom.

On top of that, the two companies will build their own separate 5G networks in other parts of the country. China Telecom's own network will extend to 19 provinces, while China Unicom's will cover 10.

According to the Agreement, the two operators, by sharing the radio spectrums to their names, will “build together” and “share together” one 5G radio access network in 15 major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, etc. The 5G core networks will be built separately.

This paper focuses on the automatic data configuration model of 5G co-construction and shared base stations. By interacting with the core network and wireless network, this model can identify and match different 5G network modes such as SA and NSA (including dual-anchor scenarios and single-anchor scenarios).

Chinese main operators are China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom. In addition to its expected expansion in the 5G field, China noted that it is also set to begin trials for 10-gigabit optical networks and enhance computing power infrastructure, reflecting the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Essentially, the two operators agreed to jointly build one physical 5G network upon which they can deploy their own logical network and customized private networks. With this initiative, China now has the world's first and largest shared 5G SA network, laying the groundwork for scaled 5G deployments in the industry.
