The presented model enables a site-specific resolution of the current plant stock of the energy-intensive industries. Based on this, scenarios can be conducted and analysed for a detailed examination of the transformation of the European industrial sector.

However in practice, on-site energy system configuration is done without taking into account the dynamic nature of the manufacturing plant's energy demand.
